Shop, Stay, Dine, Explore Newport for the Holiday Season!

The local Newport initiative is encouraging residents and tourists to take advantage of Newport's shopping scene during the holidays!

Starting on Friday, Nov. 27 through Thursday, Dec. 31., participating retailers will hold special discounts, raffles and events for Shop, Stay, Dine, Explore Newport.

Think of the "Shop Small Business Saturday" campaign created by American Express, except Shop, Stay Dine, Explore Newport represents a grassroots effort to remind residents and regular visitors that supporting the shops and restaurants in the City by the Sea makes a difference year-round. 

What's Up Newport reports that there will be a weekly raffles for the ultimate Newport shopping spree:

The shopping spree raffle will consist of multiple gift certificates from participating retailers. Two winners will be selected each Friday beginning December 4th. Shoppers are encouraged to visit retailers weekly for more chances to win.

We always want you to shop local, but we can't stress the importance of supporting small businesses during the holidays!
