Laura Jean Denim Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary!

Our grand opening was on July 15, 2005, based on a strong desire to provide a better shopping experience and denim selection for men and women on Aquidneck Island. 

An article in the Newport Daily News announcing the opening captured the start-up story:

 “It all started when Laura Flynn of Newport took a trip to Florida…Looking to buy a pair of jeans, she said it took her a day and a half to find the perfect ones – not because the area stores lacked choices, but because there were so many styles to choose from… That’s when it occurred to her that aside from one or two styles that a few small stores carried in and around Newport, there was not much of a selection for either men or women.”

With a background as a fashion-merchandising student, Laura took the leap into retail and has been bringing the latest fashion trends to residents and visitors to Newport, Rhode Island for ten years.  A 10^th anniversary celebration event is being planned for Friday, August 21st to thank all of our wonderful customers and staff through the years.
